Rosscarbery's Surf Turf 'n' Tar half marathon and 10k took place on Saturday 25 April 2026. Organised by Rosscarbery Steam Runners AC with the Rosscarbery Business Association, it is a one-of-a-kind multi-terrain race on road, beach, forest and trail, and one of the highlights of the village year.
Our water station at Castlefreke
The rowing club was proud to play its part again this year. Our volunteers ran the water station at Castlefreke Castle, handing out water and plenty of encouragement to runners as they came through. Surf Turf 'n' Tar also supports local clubs and groups each year, the rowing club among them, and we are very grateful for it.

A special mention to Gobnait Wright and Jack Hehir, who both completed the half marathon. Well done to both of them, and to every Rosscarbery member who took part on the day.
