Adults

It is never too late to start rowing. Whether you want to get fit, get out on the water, meet people or race, there is a place for you at Rosscarbery.

Many of our adult members had never sat in a boat before they joined.

Rowing your way

  • Learn to row: start with the basics in a steady boat with experienced members.
  • Recreational rowing: fitness, fresh air and good company on the Lagoon.
  • Racing: South West regattas have novice, senior, masters and veteran categories for men, women and mixed crews, so there is a race for every stage. New to racing? See the regatta day checklist.
  • Coxing: steer the boat and lead the crew. Coxes are always in demand.

Give Rowing a Try

Give Rowing a Try runs every year during the Rosscarbery Family Festival. It is the easiest way to find out if rowing is for you. Keep an eye out for the dates during the 2027 Rosscarbery Family Festival.

What to wear: indoors, comfortable sports clothes and a bottle of water. On the water, follow the regatta day kit list: suitable footwear, layers, water and sun protection.
